Aubrey Inc. designs, manufactures and sells novel, bioengineered, temporary skin substitutes and strives to further the advancement of global wound care by providing health care professionals with solutions that offer valuable options for treatment and superior healing power while providing patients with the benefits of faster healing, less potential for complications and decreased pain.

Aubrey Inc. was founded December 2007 by Aubrey Woodroof, Chairman and CEO, an MBA with a PhD in Biochemistry. Woodroof revolutionized burn care in 1979 when he created Biobrane®, the first biosynthetic wound dressing cleared by the FDA. In the fall of 2007, upon learning that 28 years later Biobrane® still maintained a significant world market share in the treatment of superficial partial thickness burns, he realized that the design had not undergone any significant changes or improvements since his departure in 1991. Woodroof then decided to come out of a 16 year retirement armed with feedback from industry experts and scientific hypothesis on how to expand the art.
